Christian Worship Center of San Jose

Christian Worship Center of San Jose launched its first service on Easter Sunday at Overfelt High School in 2000.  Services are still held at this location today.

In 1989, Bishop Steve Perea & Pastor Dan Vera were returning from a gathering of ministers, when the Word of the Lord was spoken from Isaiah 43:19:

“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

Through this Word God spoke to their spirits and deposited into their souls a vision and destroyed the walls of limitations. God promised a movement that could not be numbered, a revival that cannot be rivaled and a outpouring that would not be contained.

Since that time God placed a great desire in Bishop Perea to plant 5 churches in five different cities over the next ten years. Rather than have just one “Mega Church” Bishop Perea felt the need to share the “CWC” style of ministry to other regions of our state.

The first of these plants happened on Easter Sunday of 2000. CWC Manteca sent out Pastor Dan Vera and a team of twelve church planters in to San Jose’s Eastside, to plant the first CWC church plant.  Since then, three other CWC’s have been planted in Merced, Sacramento and Los Angeles.

Today CWC of San Jose has grown to over 400 in attendance and has established a thriving mobile church, started a School of Music, CWC Bible Institute, Master’s Commission, Pastoral Internship, Discipleship Ministries for all ages and various other people building ministries.
